Our intention came from a simple, undeniable truth: the grip towel category had been ignored. Not just aesthetically — though the options were almost uniformly bland — but functionally too.

  • Towels that scrunched mid-session. Surfaces that lost grip the moment the heat kicked in. Products that seemed designed without ever spending real time on a mat.

I simply could not find anything in the market that was up to my standards. So I decided to make one myself. A grip towel that I actually want to use. One that has thought of the whole experience. For someone that needs a towel as part of their weekly routine.

The Problems T h e   P r o b l e m s

The problems we were determined to solve.

  1. Normal towels had no consideration for how you'd actually carry one. Bulky, heavy, and impossible to pack. The amount of times we ended up hiring a studio towel for an extra fee felt ridiculous.
  2. Towels that scrunched, shifted, and bunched mid-session — breaking focus trying to fix the towel every now and then.
  3. I had to carry a damp, sweaty towel which always ended up loose at the bottom of my work bag touching everything else.

But most importantly, it was just not pretty enough. Anything in the market was too bland and basic for me.

So we built Maya. Not as a response to a prettier print, but because I had a lot of heads nodding when I shared this inconvenience to the studio community. To tackle this, we engineered from the problem outward — anti-slip microfibre that activates with sweat, silicone grip anchored to your mat, and a design language considered enough to sit alongside the activewear you've already invested in.

This club is for the people who show up — to the 6am class, to the Tuesday night sculpt session, to the reformer when they'd rather be on the couch. Who needs and packs a towel as part of their weekly routine. Someone who picks their workout outfit with intention and treat their practice like it matters. Because it does.

When you invest in your gear, you invest in yourself. That's true whether you're a hot Pilates regular who hasn't missed a session in six months, a yogi who moves between studios and practices and moods, or someone who just booked their first class and wants to arrive ready. The Maya Club has no entry requirements except one: You decided to show up and you have a standard in your gear.

The towel you unroll at the start of class is part of that decision. It's the signal you send to yourself — quietly, before anyone else notices — that says I'm here. I'm doing this.

That's what we build for. And that's what we want our members to achieve from using our towels.
